Dr. Woska completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Columbia University, New York Presbyterian Hospital. He served as chief resident in his final year. After completion of residency, he spent an additional year in New Orleans completing a fellowship in interventional pain medicine and spine injections. He has received specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex pain disorders including herniated disc, disc degeneration, facet arthopathy, sacroiliitis, radiculopathy and cervicogenic headache. He is able to perform electrodiagnostic testing including EMG.
Dr. Woska is the author of a book entitled "The Rehab Pocket Survival Guide" which is a standard reference for rehabilitation residents. He has collaborated on a chapter in discography in an interventional radiology textbook, and has participated in various research projects involving interventional pain procedures for pain of spinal origin.
Dr. Woska is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Sports Medicine. He performs a variety of procedures aimed at diagnosis and treatment of pain. These involve transforaminal epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, discography, intradiscal treatments, medial branch blocks, and radiofrequency denervation of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine. He also performs state of the art intradiscal therapies, percutaneous discectomy, biacuplasty and spinal cord stimulators. Arthrography and therapeutic joint injections can be performed in the knee, hip, shoulder and sacroiliac joints.
Electrodiagnostic testing, including Nerve Conduction Studies and EMG is performed using state of the art equipment and techniques in order to diagnose nerve and muscle diseases.
Dr. Woska is involved in teaching. He attends Columbia University where he supervises the EMG lab and teaches residents and fellows. He provides grand round lectures and has been an invited speaker at national conferences and medical schools.
Dr. Woska is currently the Executive Director of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and remains active in legislative affairs.
